The “home-office” touchdown space for a social change organization focused on education, health, immigration reform, media and the environment, needed an exclusive space for the team to collaborate. The interior scope at this historical building was tenant improvement and renovation of the 2nd floor, which includes demolition of non-structural elements by emphasising the natural beauty of the existing materials such as brick walls wood beams, skylights and space filled with natural daylight. The intent of the home office concept is to promote residential comfort in their work place. The concept blends aspects of home furnishings into the contemporary office with warm materials, textures and colors. Another critical element was to seamlessly blend the all-hands meeting space into the staff break area creating the warm feeling of a residential kitchen for all to gather.  This became the heart and core of the space, while the open space plan created collaboration and transparency.
